Sad news...

Thank you to all who have prayed for my Step Mother. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer last Wednesday, July 12, 2006. It was a short, but very tough battle for her.

Please continue to pray for my father. He is having a very hard time right now without his wife. He misses her so much....

March of Dimes ~ Walk America!

Well, my sister and I did the Walk America walk yesterday in the rain.
It was fun, but boy were we soaked!!!

I am pleased to say that I raised $1,136!! My sister and I together raised
close to $2,500 for the March of Dimes! YIPPEE!!
What a great way to celebrate Alex's memory
and acknowledge the struggles of my sweet Samantha.

Hellooooooooo!!

Things are still pretty busy around here, but I can't complain!...My step mother's treatment is going well, and they are thinking of moving back to the area, which is good. We'll see what happens!

Samantha is getting sweeter and smarter every day! She just cracks me up with the things she says!! She likes to listen to Bo Bice! She always asks for it when she gets in the truck! HAA!! She knows a cutie when she hears one! HAA!!

More treatment....

My stepmother is starting whole brain radiation tommorow. If you are reading this, please keep her and my dad in your prayers. The side effects can be pretty scary, but I am hoping she won't have any problems......... Things around here have been very busy, so I haven't had much time to write or mess around with this blog... Hopefully things will slow down a bit soon!!

So far, so good.....

My step mother made it out of surgery without any complications. She is in a lot of pain, but is doing well. She will be out of ICU tonight and into a regular room. My dad is hanging in there too. I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers through this tough and scary time for my family. I will post more as I know more....

MORE PRAYERS NEEDED!!

Dear Friends,
I am writing this asking for more prayers for my step mother. She will be having brain surgery tomorrow (Wed) morning to remove a marble size tumor from her brain. She is very scared and we are all worried if there will be any side effects from the surgery. She will also have to get 2 weeks of radiation following the surgery. Her chemo is on hold now for the lung and bone cancer. Please just pray that her and my dad stay strong and that God keeps them safe, and that the Dr's do what they need to do to make her better.

I am very worried about my dad being up there 9 hrs from us, all alone. My step mom did not want anyone to come up there for the surgery, so we all just have to wait, and hope and pray all will work out fine...

Thanks for the prayers. I will update when I find out more.

The Latest...

Well, my dad and step mom came into town this weekend and visited with us, and we celebrated Christmas with them. She will be starting chemo on Tuesday, so if you are reading this, please say a prayer that the chemo kills all of the cancer and she goes into remission...

The cancer has not spread to her brain. We are so thankful for that. Hopefully this chemo will work really good and she will survive. My dad is in very poor health and she is his only caretaker. I know he would be devastated if anything happened to her. How scary for both of them.

I am so glad we had a nice visit and Samantha had a blast playing with "Gram" and all of her presents they brought. Samantha got tons of really cute Strawberry Shortcake and Disney Princess stuff!
